86% of website traffic comes from search engines or directories like Google, Yahoo or MSN
There are generally two different forms of internet
marketing that uses search engines such as Google, MSN, Yahoo and so on.
These are;
1, natural or organic search engine
marketing
2, pay-per-click marketing.
Natural or organic
search engine marketing is achieved by search engine optimisation (SEO) of website pages to bring
favorable results in the indexed lists of search engines. There are specific techniques
that can be used to maximise these search returns. This list
is generally the list in the left column of the
search engines lists.
Pay-per-click programs such as; Google
AdWords, Yahoo! search engine marketing and
others are programs that companies buy into in
order to be listed on the search engine results.
These programs require budgeting to maximize the
potential for driving internet traffic to a
participating website.
The two programs each have
their specific costs for participation, however
pay-per-click programs require far greater
monthly budgets to be effective. That means that
pay-per-click programs may not be advantageous
to all businesses.
